Patented in 1922 by Allan Lard, the same person who patented Spalding's "Lard" metal shaft, this tee uses a central weight and two tee cups. The cups are different heights and the weight will slide along the rubber arm that connects the two cups. Because the weight—consisting of a brass base and iron top—will slide, the golfer could move the weight well away from the tee cup he or she wanted to use. This is a highly desirable tee in outstanding condition with the writing on the back of the brass piece all there.
