Stamped "The Spalding" on both the shaft and the crown of the head, this Spalding driver is made out of a single, solid piece of wood. There is no neck joint.  Spalding listed this one-piece driver only in its 1898 catalog. There are not many of these clubs around.

This example has its original leather face insert but the grip is a replacement leather suede grip.  There is a small chip out of the top line right next to the insert, but other than that this club is solid and does not show much use.  The finish has been touched up but it blends in exceptionally well with the original. Overall, this is an exceptionally handsome golf club!
