usable both right and left-handed, most duplex clubs are putters. This one, however, is an exceedingly rare 43-inch driver.

George Reitenour of Union City, Indiana, made this unique club.  "Ritz" is stamped in the lead alignment line atop the head.  The shaft is stamped "Made by Geo W. Reitenour,  Walnut Street, Union City, Ind / Patent Apld For." Reitenour received a US patent dated August 12, 1924.

The lead in both the left-and right-hand face is identical in shape and thickness. According to the patent, the lead used to make both faces is actually all one piece, connected through holes bored in the center of the head between the faces.  A large piece of brass covers the the rocker sole, adding durability to a clubhead that measures only 1 1/8" across the top of the head, front to back. Each face measures 1 5/8" in depth and appears to have the same loft angle.

This is the actual club shown and discussed in The Clubmakers Art 2nd Edition, volume 2, page 521.  While the author had only seen or heard tell of two of these clubs during the prior thirty years before TCA2 was published, he now knows of two more.  This extreme rarity has its original shaft, grip, and brass soleplate and is outstanding in all respects.
