This vintage captive golf ball device, complete with its original unnamed mesh ball on the end of a 15 1/2" cord, is marked "Prac-Tee Dayton, Ohio, Patent Pend." on the side of the metal stake.
The golfer would drive the stake into the ground, leaving an inch or so above the grass. They could then hit practice shots all day long in the comfort of their own yard.
