This iron is one of the earliest irons to ever consider the concept of heel and toe weighting.  Karsten Solheim is often credited with inventing this concept, but he, himself, acknowledged that heel/toe weighting had been tried earlier but not in the correct manner. 

The back of this particular iron is marked "The Leader / Legh Patent 16502 / 12" and "Sellars Hand Made" in a horse shoe.  The Patent number 16502 on the head refers to Gilbert Legh's 1912 British patent.  The shaft appears original as does the grip.  The top and bottom of the grip has been rewhipped.
