“R. Forgan & Son, St. Andrews” is stamped in an oval on the back of
this 1890s niblick. "Warranted Hand Forged" is also stamped on the back of the head and in exceptionally small letters, along with a tiny Prince of Wales plume. The shaft appears to be original. The grip is an old period replacement. Overall, the club is stout and much heavier than a typical 1890s iron. Forgan was one of the great 19th century clubmakers.
