The Winchester Arms Company, the famous American gunmaker of the late 1800s, emerged in the the 1900s as a retailer that sold a variety of sporting goods, including golf clubs. Burke and Thomas E. Wilson and a few other companies supplied the clubs, which they marked "Winchester" along with their own name.

This splice-neck Driver and Brassie were made for Winchester by the Walter Hagen Golf Company.  They are quite unusual in that these two woods have what appear to be solid brass inserts.  In addition to "Winchester / Walter Hagen" and the other writing on the top of the heads, the driver is marked "WH1" and the brassie "WH2".  Both clubs appear to be all original and in excellent condition.
