This original Jennings Brothers box, noted by the "JB" stamped on the bottom, is gorgeous!  It is a heavy, well-made out of what appears to be brass or brass plate.  The inside of the box is lined with removable dark redish-brown bakelite inserts in the base that fit together and hold their position while the piece under the lid is mounted with 4 tiny screws. Box measures approximately 6 1/2” long x 3 3/4” wide x 3 1/2” tall.

Jennings Brothers operated a jewelry store in Connecticut at the turn of the century specializing in metal art. The design of the two golf clubs and mesh ball on top appear to date this box circa 1920s when mesh balls were at their peak. 

This beautifully made piece would grace any desktop of room anywhere.  It could easily hold jewelry, pens, business cards or various other items.
