Made in the early 1900s and stamped "A. Simpson" on it's crown, this long-nosed style putter was likely made by Andrew Simpson, Alexander Simpson, or Archie Simpson, brother of famed clubmaker Robert Simpson. Because their is no other identifying marks to indicate which Simpson made this club, it is impossible to know for sure. What is known for sure is that the club is a solid example of an early 1900s long nose style putter.  The club not only has a lead weight in the back of the head but also a lead weight on the sole. This is an unusual feature which gives the sleek long head a nice meaty, solid feel when put to use.

The head has a large lead backweight and lead sole weight. Shaft measures 34 3/4" and has its original sheepskin grip. Shaft stamped with the owners name, "G. Buchan."  Nice 5" long head with a 1" face depth and 1 9/16 width. 43 3/4" shaft still has its original neck whipping.  The grip appears to be original.
