Among many other things, PING is famous for its gold putters. Beginning back in the 1960s, Karsten awarded gold-plated putters to those top PGA and LPGA pros who won events using a PING putter. He would make two gold putters for each win.  He kept one and awarded the other to the successful pro.  Today, PING has a vault that contains over 3000 gold putters, the vast bulk of which are engraved with the name of the pro and the event he or she won.

Featured here is the Ping-awarded gold plated copy of the B-90 long putter Philip Walton used to win the 1995 Murphy's English Open Championship. His name and the event name is engraved on the face. The club is in unused condition and has the original shaft band on its lengthy 46" shaft. The B-90 putter was Karsten's first production model long (chest-length) putter and was on the market by 1991. (ATPWP, p. 322)   Talk about sparkle!
