Showing no use at all, this near mint Spalding "Golf Press" was designed to hold/store clubs in such a way that the shafts would stay straight.  There are enough slots to hold six clubs by their shafts, and two straps were used to tighten down the shafts into their respective slots. (The slots in the base of this device do not use a strap. They are slightly closed on the top, so a normal thickness shaft after it's been slid into place cannot come out.  With the shafts unable to move, they would be less liable to warp as could sometimes happen if the clubs were stacked loose or left in a golf bag set in a corner

One end of this clever device is stamped "Pat. July 24, 1926." The Spalding Decal is is without flaw. The two straps are in perfect condition.

Today, this club holder has an additional use. Once loaded with clubs, it provides a handsome club display. (The clubs shown in the images are not included with this lot.)
