Not only will this image reach out and garner great attention, its a picture of a uniquely famous golfer who is not so well known today.  Joseph Henry Kirkwood Sr was a professional golfer from Australia who started making a name for himself in 1920 when he won both the Australian Open and New Zealand Open. He then branched out into Europe and England, defeating Harry Vardon in his first match abroad and also becoming the first Australian to win on the future PGA Tour. By 1924 he was ranked one of the top players on the tour and ended up with a career 17 tour victories.  Over his lifetime, Kirkwood is credited with scoring twenty-nine holes-in-one, two of which came in the same round.

However, his best notoriety came not in his professional play, but in his trick-shot skills! In 1924 he teamed up with Water Hagen to put on trick shot shows all around the world. His antics and entertainment were even captured on film and sent back home to be played as newsreels in cinemas in the United States.

Kirkwood is considered by many to be the greatest trick shot artist ever. He is easily the "father" of the genre--and paved the way for those who followed in his footsteps!

This autographed 8x10 black and white photo of Joe and his gigantic tree-limbed mega-wood is sure to put a smile on someone's face. What an image!
