Measuring 42 1/2" in length and sporting a nice old sheepskin grip, this Alex Patrick Long spoon has had its finish cleaned up and it presents well.  The name stamp on the head is faint, but enough of it is there to clearly identify Patrick as the make of this club.

There is a small crack in the head out on the face/toe, but the face is nevertheless clean and untouched.  The head is quite shapely, with an elegant design complete with a beautifully hooked face.  Face depth is 1 3/16" and head length is 5 1/2". The neck whipping appears original, and the club, other than the small crack on the face, does not appear to show much use.

Alex Patrick grew up in Leven, Scotland where he was not only a talented amateur golfer, but also an apprentice in his family's clubmaking business. Upon his father's death in 1866, Alex took over the business and built a reputation as a fine club and ballmaker.

This club is second from the left in the accompanying image of 7 clubs, and second from the left in the image of 4 clubs.
