William Mills was the most prolifice designer and manufacturer of early aluminum head golf clubs.  He created The Standard Golf Company, a division of The Atlas Works, to produce his clubs which are commonly referred to today as "Mills" clubs.

This Mills MSD 1 Cleek Model was produced in the early 1900s.  The 40" original shaft is stamped ""Shafted by Standard Golf Co, Sunderland, England." It has been regripped with an old leather-wrapped grip of the same general age as the club.

While this club shows some wear, it is in better condition than most Mills clubs with their soft aluminum heads.  The excellent condition of this head and the well-lofted face give this club a great look!

For more on Mills clubs see TCA2 v1 p338-341.
