Sporting corrugated deep groves set at an angle across the face, this iron was made sometime in the early 1920s by George Nicoll of Leven, Scotland. Nichol started his clubmaking business in 1881 and used slight variations of an upturned hand for his mark across his entire career. The back of this iron bears that cleekmark, along with his name and location. It is also stamped "Warranted / Handforged" and "Zenith / Mashie Pitcher."

Around the turn of the century, George's son stepped up in the family business and helped model it after other leading club manufacturers like Spalding--producing complete lines of irons of which Zenith was one of the most popular.

The 37 1/2" shaft is a replacement, likely from back in the day. Original grip.
