Spalding waterfall backspin irons were produced primarily in 1920 and
1921 under a patent issued in 1919 to William F. Reach. They were
designed to add backspin to the golfers shots, be it a traditional
strike or a cut sot.
This example is stamped "Spalding Kro-Flite, W.H. Trovinger Special"
and "Pat'd 4-20, 1920" on the back of the head. The sole is stamped "F-6 Dedstop Mashie Niblic" but with some wear to the lettering. The 36" shaft is original as is the leather wrap grip. A very nice example with strong corrugated deep grooves.
