Covered under US patent No. 2,305,270 dated December 15, 1942 and issued to John Nilson of Chicago, Illiinois, this 40 1/2-inch-long adjustable iron has a triangular three-sided head that provides three different faces.   The head can be rotated and locked into place to provide 8 different clubs for a right-handed golfer. The end of the head lists the clubs as a 1,2,3,5,6,7,9.  The single mark without an identifier is actually used to adjust to a putter.

The head is spring loaded inside, so simply by pushing in on the head the golfer couid rotate the head to select their desired club. The head will then spring back out, into its new locked position.

Made by the Strokum Mfg. Company of Chicago, Illinois, this is a rare and fascinating club on many levels.
