This early 1890s Forgan long nose putter has its original shaft and sheepskin grip. The Prince of Wales Plume is stamped on the crown. The shaft is stamped “R/ Forgan & Son, St. Andrews” The head still have its original finish. Light scoring lines on the face. A nice club in all respects. Based in St. Andrews, Robert Forgan learned clubmaking as an apprentice to Hugh Philp before taking over Philp’s business in 1856. TCA2 V1 p70-74
