Produced by the F. Mingay in the early 1900s, this ball is marked “Mingay’s Patent 20905” on one pole and “Liquid Core, Rubber Ball” on the other.   A “pristine” example of this ball sold for £690 by Sotheby’s on July 10, 1998, which is the last year that one of these came up for sale according to Kevin McGimpsey’s comprehensive study of golf balls “The Story of the Golf Ball.”

This ball is in outstanding condition.  The original paint remains bright with only a few minor blemishes.  A single strike mark is not overly obtrusive.  A great find!
