This Dunlop man is almost in wonderful original condition.  The original paint is strong and no scrapes or scuffs above the knees.  All three clubheads still remain.  However, the ankle area on both legs has suffered damage and loss. Some of the cuff on the bottom left trouser leg is also missing.  Just look at the ankle area in all four images. The wooden post inside the right-hand leg, which is used to attach the figurine to the base, is still strong. Mr. Dunlop still stands tall.

The collector has two options with this piece. He or she can spend a little money and have the damaged areas restored or they can simply display it as is, which is what the previous collector did for over 20 years.  While the damage is definitely significant, it is not readily noticeable when put on display. In fact, this damage is not obvious when you view the images that accompany this lot.  There is so much color and various shapes that make up the rest of the figure, if it's positioned on a shelf with another collectible placed low in front of it, the damage virtually disappears.

A Dunlop Man is a rare piece. Despite the damage, it can work well in the right display. This item will not sell for the same price as a perfect unbroken example, but in the right setting it would display just as well.  Or, again, you can spend a little money and get it repaired. This is a deal in the making!
