This heavy two-piece iron mold was one of the molds used by The Worthington Ball Company to make the "Wiffie Cox" mesh ball offered in 1916. Locating a mint Wiffie Cox ball would be a great find. Locating the mold that made the ball would be even better but much harder to do. There were often thousands of balls made by a single mold which is why collectors encounter far more balls than molds.
