Complete with three large circular weights inlaid inside the top of the head under a thick metal disk, this driver is a beast to swing! Made by the Walter Hagen Golf Company and bearing a Walter Hagen decal on its shaft, this club is designed to be used as a swing trainer or warm-up club. The clubhead is so heavy its swingweight is way, way off the chart. This club is likely one of just a few produced. The auctioneer has not seen another.
Everything on this 42 1/2" driver is original with the possible exception of the uncoated neck whipping. The whipping, however, is likely original to the club. The club was not meant to be used on a course, so coating the whipping to protect it from rain was not necessary. Furthermore, the chances are slim that replacement whipping was needed on a club that did not get much use.
This is the actual club presented in TCA2 V2 p685. A copy of the page signed by the author will be included with this lot.
