Dated 24 February, 1923, this brief letter was written by james Braid, a member of the Golf's Great Triumvirate, on his personal stationary. Braid was a member of The Great Triumvirate along with Harry Vardon and JH Taylor.  Braid won the British Open 5 times between 1901 and 1910. Upon scaling back his tournament golf in 1912, Braid worked as a full time club pro at Walton Heath and then developed a successful career as a golf course designer.

The entire letter is written by Braid's hand, and includes a beautiful signature. In his letter, Braid recommends another golfer for a possible job. The letter is beautifully mounted in a 14" tall x 15 1/4" wide frame. The frame is missing its glass. Clear protective plastic is mounted over the letter, and it has a slight tear high up over the letter, just to the left above the date. (you can see it if you zoom in and look close) The plastic protective covering did its job—there is no damage to the letter.

This wonderful item is consigned by a life-long member of the golf press who assembled a fabulous collection of signed golf artifacts during his career. This item is guaranteed authentic.
