The 1906 Life Association of Scotland calendar includes a sepia image of the "1906 British Open at Muirfield" painting by Michael Brown.  Shown in the image is the winner, James Braid, as he lines up a putt with his Mills aluminum putter in hand.  Harry Vardon is in the center of the image, surrounded by other luminaries of the day.

This particular calendar being offered here has been cut down so the image can be framed. This cropped calendar has been damaged, as shown in the second picture included with this lot.  The image, however, will display nicely when framed with the accompanying mat. Just a slight tear and a smidge of ink on the top of the image will be visible (as shown on the main picture of this lot), and then only upon close inspection.  The mat included with this lot measures 15" tall x 19" wide.  The opening for the image is 9" tall x 13" wide.

All things considered, when this image is framed it will look attractive. People will recognize that it is genuinely old and enjoy a glimpse of the British Open as it was held in 1906.
