This set of circa 1910 ladies golf boots were made to accept golf spikes in the heels only.  The heels themselves are made out of hard rubber and embossed "Goodyear Wing Foot."  Goodyear introduced "Wing Foot" rubber soles and heels in 1905. By 1930, golf shoes had built in spikes on the heel and sole, and the shoes themselves looked nothing like these, with their button up front and high top, etc.

The auctioneer believes these boots are ladies size 6 1/2, as the soles are the same size, front to back, as the soles of the ladies size 6 1/2 shoes in the next lot.

These boots are well made and in remarkably good condition.  The original buttons are all there. The leather soles show little wear. The right boot, however, appears to have a water stain on the inside of the toe area and the toe of left boot is a little scuffed up with two water stains.  While not perfect, these boots are nice and exceedingly rare!
