This is an exquisite club made in 1898 by one of the Americas earliest golf club manufacturing companies—the Bridgport Gun Implment Company in Massachussets. The head and shaft of this driver are made from a single, solid piece of
wood. There is no neck joint. The original finish is strong and
vibrant and shows little to no use. The face insert, horn on the sole, lead
back weight, and leather-wrapped grip are original. Both the head and the shaft are
stamped "BGI Co". The head is also stamped with BGI's rampant lion
trademark. Overall, this all original one-piece driver is about as mint as they come.
