Golf Tees typically were bought in boxes the perimeter of which had two narrow and two wide sides. If the golfer wanted a larger quantity of tees, then they would buy tees in bags or large boxes that were much closer to square around the perimeter. The Box of Champion tees in this lot is the largest shallow rectangular box of tees that auctioneer has come across. Its size become obvious as it is shown next to a box of Bobby Cruikshank tees, which is a just a little smaller than the typical box of tees.
The Champion box of wood tees is in outstanding condition as is the box of "Bobby Cruikshank Indestructable Steel
Tees"
Metal tees
in general had a short life span. Looking at these tees you could
certainly see how the tees could easily become lost after a shot and
then found when mowing..... not such great features back in the 1920s.
But a great box of Tees today!
