Part of what elevates a club collection are the clubs that it contains that are found nowhere else in the world.  And this Dolphin driver is one such club—no other examples are known.

The Dolphin driver has an extremely unusual head, marked "Dolphin / Prov Pat" on the crown.  There is a small brass plate that covers the front half of the sole, and a black fiber slip between the face and the brass sole plate. a small piece of black fiber has broken off the slip, at the toe.

There is a lead button in the back of the head, which measures 4 1/4 inches from front to back.  The head still has its original finish, which is still in relatively nice shape, and the face and head are solid—no cracks.

This very club is the club pictured in TCA2 vol 2, p 585. A signed page from the book is included as part of this lot.

A unique piece of golf history.
