The blonde driver is marked "MacGregor, Dayton 3BB" on the crown. MacGregor's 1919 Wholesale Price list No. 22 describes the 3BB model as " 'Six Spot' Ivory Face Brass Back Driver and Brassie.  This driver is marked with an Oct 21, 1919 patent date on the crown. This patent covered the brass backweight that extends from the top of the head all the way to the sole.

The reddish mahogany head is a Six Spot brassie, compete with a brass soleplate.  Its crown is marked with a Nov. 14, 1922 patent date. This patent called for threaded inserts/plugs that were screwed into place, not just simply glued or cemented.

While both the driver and brassie have six spot ivory inserts, they were made in different years, as the 3BB was offered from 1919 to at least 1925.  Both have their original shafts and leather wrap grips.
