Francis Fairlie received a British patent in 1891 for his anti-shank
iron. This particular Fairlie's niblick was made in the early 1900s.
It has a smooth face with a thick head and nozzle. The back of the head is stamped
"Fairlie's Patent Niblick." The shaft is original, and the grip appears to be original as well. Frank Johnston's "key" cleek mark is stamped on the back of the head, along with "Special 7."
