This is a set of three 1931 Wilson Ryder Cup matched woods: Driver, brassie, and spoon.

First catalogued in Wilson's 1929 catalog, Ryder Cup woods are described as "the finest implements" and "crown jewels" of the game. One of the paragraphs reads, "Nothing to date has been built in golf equipment which can equal this remarkable set of clubs. Wilson experiences a justified pride in presenting so fine a product to the golfing world. No details has been overlooked--they are complete. See them and they are bound to stir within you a keen desire for ownership. Possess them and a deep sense of pride is fired within you. Inspect them and they will quickly prove their superiority to you."

The air-dried persimmon heads (finished with polished mahogany) are stamped "Wilson Ryder Cup Model" and include the initials "S.R.G." The fancy faces are a beautiful black, white, and red design, and each head has a specially designed ivory back weight. The sole plates are stamped "Related 4250 Model" and "Brassie," "Spoon," and "Driver," respectively.

The True Temper steel shafts are "bamboo-sheathed" according to the catalog, and the tapered grip includes an indestructo button that matches the shaft.

A beautiful set in all respects.
