Spalding was one of the earliest American golf club makers. This round back cleek was introduced by Spalding in 1897 and sold for a few years. It was their top of the line club at the time and is well made.

As pictured, this Spalding Round Back Cleek is thicker across the rounded back of the head, which is stamped with "The Spalding Hand Forged." The original hickory shaft bears a shaft stamp of "The Spalding." The club still has its original sheepskin grip, but with a wrap of what appears to be electrical tape at the top and bottom.
