Featuring a solid piece of brass that make up the sole and back half of head, this patented putter was made by George Brews, a professional golfer and golf club maker from The Box, Minchinhampton. The design was intended to better concentrate the weight behind the face. According to Brews' patent, his invention would "so form and dispose of the weight that it acts along a line parallel to the striking face of the club being practically equally distributed along  a portion of such line approximately corresponding to the entire length of the striking face."

This club is stamped "Brews Patent Putter" on the crown, across the wood and the brass. The face has cross hatch scoring and shows some wear at both the toe and the bottom of the face. The original sheepskin grip is missing a piece along its top and bottom as well. The original hickory shaft measures 33 5/8".

While former use is obviously displayed on the club, the original, unrefinished condition on this weighty club still shows great character from years of use back in its day.

Condition is as shown in the photographs.
