The Winchester Arms Company, the famous American gunmaker of the late
1800s, emerged in the the 1900s as a retailer that sold a variety of
sporting goods, including golf clubs. Burke and Thomas E. Wilson and a
few other companies supplied the clubs, which they marked "Winchester"
along with their own name.
This lot consists of three irons, each marked "Winchester". In addition, along with other writing, both Mashie Niblics are stamped "MJ Brady / Monel Metal" and were made by Burke. The Mashie is stamped "Pickwick." and was made by Crawford, MacGregor & Canby.
