This unmarked iron head is made out of gunmetal and dates to the
late 1880s-early 1890s. Gunmetal was used because it did not rust,
offered an attractive look, and it provided a slightly different, softer feel.
For being somewhere around 120 years old, the head is in great condition, showing minimal evidence of use. Original shaft measures a little over 38" and is stamped "JN Aitken." It has been re-gripped, matching the club well.
Gunmetal irons from
this period are actually quite rare and will add a rich visual dimension to any iron collection.
