Marked "Clipper" on both poles, the Clipper ball was likely made sometime around 1930. This ball is not listed in Kevin McGimpsey's definitive and encyclopedic book, The Story of The Golf Ball. The ball appears to be unused with just a few minor blemishes to the paint.
The second ball in this lot is The Talisman. It also appears to have never been used, but the cover has cracked open in a big way. Even so, if set just so, the "visible half" of the ball will present well as if nothing is amiss.
Both balls have an attractive and unusual radiating trapezoid cover pattern that helps these ball stand apart from all the rest.
The Clipper ball is in fourth ball in the third row of the group image.
