Don't let the name intimidate you, these balls were originally advertised as the ideal ball for the average golfer! Not just Wright & Ditson's standard dimple "Eagle" ball--this needling was advertised to be for distance and maximum durability.

Needled balls were made with a liquid center. But after being made made, a needle was used to inject the center with more liquid.  Advertisements from the day explain how this process supposedly made the ball travel farther and even show a ball being injected during the experimental stage of its design.

This set looks much like it did when it first went on sale. Complete with a working lid, the box opens up to create the ideal marketing display. Four sleeves are included, with light wear to the edges of a couple of sleeves. One ball is missing from one of the sleeves.  Most of the balls in the sleeves are still in their original paper.

Note: The flaps on the end of one sleeve are missing.

Condition is as shown in photographs.
