This Rustless putter features a unique hosel that attaches only to the top of the blade, and the blade itself is also quite different. Overall the design is both stylish and different, two elements that make for an excellent collectible.
The back of the blade is marked "Smethurst's 'Mystic'" along with two British design registration numbers that date to 1907 and 1929, respectively. The S/Anchor cleekmark indicates that the club was made by the Stadium Golf Company of London.
The original 36" shaft features an "E.R. Whitcombe" rubber grip, named after a successful professional English golfer from the 1920-30's. Manufacturer "The Avon Rubber Company" advertised these grips as perfect for "dry or perspiring hands or for all weather conditions."
