Among many other things, PING is famous for its gold putters. Beginning back in the late 1960s, Karsten made it a practice to award gold-plated putters to those top PGA and LPGA pros who won events using a PING putter. He would make two gold putters—exact duplicates of the putter the player used—for each win.  He kept one and awarded the other to the successful pro.  Today, PING has a vault that contains over 3000 gold putters, the vast bulk of which are engraved with the name of the pro and the event he or she won.

Featured here is the Ping-awarded gold-plated copy of the Ping Pal putter Philip Walton used to win the 1990 Peugeot French Open. His name and the event name is engraved on the face. The club is in unused condition and has the original shaft band on its 36" shaft, along with the infamous Ping grip.

Talk about sparkle!
