This back of this Spalding Waterfall Dedstop Pitcher is stamped "Spalding Kro-Flite". In addition, it is marked with the owners name "Chick Fraser." Fraser was a professional during the 1920's at the Los Angeles "Midwick Country Club" (while a premier course in its time, no longer in existence) and he was also featured in several golf flicker books. Instead of the 1919 patent date also stamped on the back, it has "Pat Applied For," so you know it's an earlier model. The sole is stamped "Dedstop Pitcher / F-7 / Reg US Pat Off."

Spalding waterfall backspin irons were produced primarily in 1920 and 1921 under a patent issued in 1919 to William F. Reach. They were designed to add backspin to the golfers shots, be it a traditional strike or a cut sot.

Nice 37" original shaft and original grip. Head is clean with all of the lettering clearly legible.
