This Douglass Tee Gun consists of a cylinder, open at the
bottom, and a spring-loaded plunger. The golfer would pack the cylinder
full of wet sand and
then, after positioning the bottom of the Tee Gun on the ground, he or
she would push down on the spring-loaded plunger thereby compacting
and placing
the sand on the ground ready and able to hold up a golf ball.
The plunger is spiraled like a screw, allowing the height to be adjusted up or down, depending on how high the sand tee needed to be. Marked with the Douglas name on its top, this Tee Gun is a fine example in
perfect working order.
