This tethered/tasseled tee has a magnet on one end, so the golfer could just touch their club to the magnet and thereby pick up the tee off the ground, the tee having a metal disk attached just under its top. The Magnatee "Obviates Stooping" the box states, along with "Saves Golfers Time & Pegs." The included ad in this lot also points out that "the rubber washer can also be adjusted to standardize the height of the tee suitable to the player."

Everything sounds great, but this tee never caught on because of one practical consideration.  Drivers and other wood-head clubs either did not have a soleplate, or the soleplate was made from aluminum or brass, neither of which is magnetic.  Consequently the golfer needed to screw a metal disc into the end of the grip on all their wood clubs. This meant extra steps to use this tee with all clubs, and that likely limited interest in the tee. Bummer for Magnatee, but a rare find for a collector!
