This Douglass Tee Gun consists of a cylinder, open at the
bottom, and a spring-loaded plunger. The golfer would pack the cylinder
full of wet sand and
then, after positioning the bottom of the Tee Gun on the ground, he or
she would push down on the spring-loaded plunger thereby compacting
and placing
the sand on the ground ready and able to hold up a golf ball.
The plunger is spiraled like a screw, allowing the height to be
adjusted up or down, depending on how high the sand tee needed to be. Unfortunately, at this point in its life this mold cannot be adjusted to make tees of lower heights. The threads appear to be stripped. However, the mold still works fine when it comes to making a full size sand tee. Marked with the Douglas name on its top.
