Between October of 1966 and January of 1967, Jack Nicklaus won four professional championships using a Ping Cushin much like the one offered here.  In early 1967, Karsten Solheim entered into an agreement with Mark McCormick, the agent for Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, that allowed Slazenger of England to sell PING putters bearing the endorsement of Nicklaus.  This agreement lasted approximately three years.   ATPWP  p 92-94, 100

Later in 1967, when the USGA initially ruled that shafts were not allowed to have bends, which rule the USGA eventually softened to allow bends within 5 inches of the head, Karsten's business lost a lot of momentum and the tacit endorsement from one gigantic player who had to stop using his PING putter.

The Cushin was introduced in mid-1965. This Nicklaus Cushin shows minimal use, but still looks great and presents well. The sight line on the top of the head is original to the club. The 35 1/4" shaft still has its gold "Slazenger" shaft band and original white Golf Pride Informer grip.

Jack Nicklaus PING putters are wonderful history and eminently collectible.
