The shaft in this Slazlenger brassie is threaded and screwed into the socket of the head, which is also threaded to received the shaft. Glue was also used to help solidify what was sold as an exceedingly durable neck joint.
This screw socket brassie appears to have never had its 42 3/8" shaft unscrewed from the head as the two are still firmly affixed. It is stamped "Slazenger" on the head along with the patent number that covered the design of the screw socket, and it still has its original leather wrapped grip.
