The brass head is actually hollow, and the steel face has nothing behind it other than at its perimeter. It is held in place only in its sides. This design was used to give the face a spring face effect. With the advent of the lively new rubber core ball introduced in 1898, a few spring face putters such as this one were tried.
The original 34" shaft has its original leather wrapped grip. The head of this putter might be small, but it is weighty! Condition as shown in the images.
