Beautiful art is not always painted on canvas. In rare instances it can be found on wonderful pieces of antique ceramics mostly found in museums or in the possession of major ceramic collectors. Offered here is one such hand painted work of art that depicts a very clever golf scene. The humorous golfing scene painted around this jar depicts a dog running off with a golf ball, being chased by the golfer, who is also being chased by ducks and his caddie. The well executed art on this jar was hand painted by "-Sergeant-" who signed his name low on this piece. The top of this biscuit jar includes a three arm support that can be tightened down to lock the lid in place. The jar itself measures 5" tall by just under 6" wide. The bottom of the jar is stamped "Comoy's, England's Premier Make". This is a truly rare piece that the auctioneer has never seen documented.
