A 1/2 Liter Stein with Latin "Veritas" on porcelain recessed into the pewter lid. Early 1900s. This O'Hara Dial porcelain mug not only has a distinctly unusual shape with it's extra wide bottom, the entire golfing scene around the mug is hand beautifully painted in shades of brown and burnt orange.
O'Hara Dial employed the Ceramic Arts Company of Trenton N.J. to paint their mugs. O'Hara would then craft the pewter lids themselves with porcelain inlays and fix them to the mug. The Latin word Veritas, on the lid inlay means "truth" or "reality". The hinge operates smoothly and without flaw. This example offered here is in beautiful condition.
