Golfiana: The International Journal for Golf Historians and Collectors
was published by Chas. A "Bud" Dufner between 1987 and 1994. This was a
wonderful, high quality production. The images and artwork is tremendous. There
are lots of old golf photos you have never seen before, plus some truly
beautiful color reproductions of some great early golf paintings.
Additionally, the articles are all insightful and fascinating and will
cover topics you are familiar with as well as some you have never heard
of. Only six volumes of 4 issues each were produced across roughly
eight years. Despite the subscribers to his publication, Dufner needed
additional financial support through advertisers and benefactors to keep
the magazine alive. Sadly, the magazine eventually came to its demise.
As one can imagine, issues of Golfiana hardly ever become available.
This lot contains eleven different issues and twelve magazines in total (2 copies of V2 #1). The magazines are in outstanding
condition and include: Summer 1987, Winter 1988, Spring/Summer 1989, Winter
1989, 1990 V.2 #4, 1990 V.3 #1 x 2, 1991 V.3 #2, 1991 V.3 #3, 1991 V.3
#4, 1992 V.4 #2, 1992 V.4 #4
After scrolling through the images of all the covers of the 12
issues, I have included some 2-page spreads, all from a single issue of
the magazine, to provide a general idea of what all the issues are
like. FYI--The magazine was not published 4 times a years. It was sent
out when it was ready. Sometimes there was only two issues published a
year.
