This 1-3-4 set of MacGregor Tommy Armour SS1W woods is outstanding—restored to perfection.  The heads have been beautifully refinished, and the original neck number were saved and can still be seen on the back of each neck.  The fiber face inserts have the normal Red/White/Red w/3 black dots Velocitized patterns and MacGregor's alignment arrow on the crown.

The wood on each head is tight.  No cracks.  The lettering is all original and neatly paint filled. The driver has a 1 11/16" deep face and the club sets up square.  Velocitized woods with these alignment arrow inserts can be found in MacGregor's 1958 retail catalogs.  All the shafts have their original MacGregor shaft bands and replacement Lamkin rubber grips that replicate the old MacGregor leather-wrap grips, complete with the gold spiral.   43" Driver.  This set came in with the custom set of Tommy Armour irons also being offered in this auction.  I believe they were originally sold together.  What a gorgeous set of woods!
